Murphy: “Another fantastic work by Bey Deckard” @ Joyfully Jay

Michelle says:

"Another fantastic work by Bey Deckard and equal time must be devoted to discussing the story line, characters, and the words themselves. The story picks up shortly after the devastation of their last mission in Sarge. The book is written in first person, present tense that is spectacularly executed. The author crafts the story so we are looking out at the world alternately through the eyes of both Sarge and Murphy and we know what they know and see what they see.

Murphy is sure and steady when it comes to his feelings for Sarge. It’s Sarge that is becoming blindsided by his feelings for Murphy. There is a constant internal push and pull as Sarge struggles on how much he wants to let Murphy in. On the outside, Sarge is emotionally impaired and a product of his military environment, but we don’t only see him from the outside. It is entertaining to watch his emotional range as Murphy keeps encroaching on his heart and there is unexpected humor rounding out their interactions.

The language, especially for Sarge, is appropriately gruff and it cuts right through to the core of the characters. The narrative is bare and stripped down while fully conveying every movement needed to fully bring the characters, as well as the setting, into full living color as Deckard creates three dimensional characters one brilliant word at a time. I found my eyes retracing phrases as I was reading as the language is perfectly chosen and offers the characters every single thing they need."

F.I.S.T.S. Handbook For Individual Survival in Hostile Environments

The F.I.S.T.S. Handbook.... what is it?

It is a book that contains both Sarge, Murphy, and a tiny "missing reel". There are three versions of it.

The Full-Colour edition has colour images of the covers inside, as well as a few extra images just for fun. It retails for $22 USD at Amazon and other places. Which is hella expensive, I know, for a 145 page book, but at that price I make a buck and change in royalties. If I can find somewhere else to get it printed for cheaper, I will, but for the moment that's how it stands.

However, if you're buying it thinking that there's going to be a whole lot of extra content... there isn't. I consider it sort of a "collector's copy" - I want a copy for myself. The missing reel is just extra, but it's not a full scene, and it's not intended to add to the story. Just give a peek into how the relationship took off. I will also be offering signed copies this version.

If you just want a print version with the two novelettes (and the missing reel) but don't care about colour images, then the second version is for you:

The Black & White edition has black and white images of the covers inside and no extra images. It retails for $8 USD at Amazon and other places.

If you don't want a print version but would like to have the two novelettes (and the missing reel) in electronic format, the third version is for you:

The kindle version is an e-copy of the full-colour edition. It retails for $4 USD.

⭐⭐ Murphy (F.I.S.T.S. #2) Available Now ⭐⭐

murphy-cover-600x900My follow-up novelette, Murphy, is available now at Amazon (free with Kindle Unlimited). I'm giving the ol' KDP Select (where you are exclusive to Amazon in return for being enrolled in their promotions and KU) a go for now, just to get an understanding of what it is. So, for the moment, it's only available for Kindle (mobi). The upside is that you can convert mobi files to anything else using apps like Calibre or read mobi on just about anything with the free Kindle app.

In addition to Murphy being released this month, I'm working on a special full-colour print book that includes Sarge and Murphy plus a very short scene I'm calling "The Missing Reel". I'm not sure if I'm going to do an e-copy of it just yet.

"Deckard has honed his craft to a fine point, making the F.I.S.T.S. space adventure the juiciest m/m read I've had in ages." - Varlo

The First Review of Murphy at The Blogger Girls!

JustJen says:

I just love when I read a follow up story and hearing the characters’ voices brings back all the memories of what I loved from the first book. Murphy and Sarge definitely did that for me here.

Aside from a new leg and some upgraded parts, it is the same Murphy and the same Sarge, doing what they do best, in all their glory. This is classified as BDSM, but they really have more of a DS and power exchange than any kind of traditional BDSM relationship. At this point, they are even more comfortable in their relationship as they now prepare for their next mission. The chapters switch between each character so that we get to see things from both perspectives. I absolutely love their dialog and the way they each speak. I smiled so many times at little things they said that make each stand out so distinctly.

Rave Review of Fated, and Praise for the Baal’s Heart Trilogy at The Smutsonian

Shurrn says:

"I hereby give this series ALL of the stars. I expected great things from the third book in the Baal’s Heart series, and I was not disappointed.

Bloggers don’t always have the luxury of reading exactly what they want when they want. We’ve got schedules and deadlines to stick to, and I take that shit seriously… So understand how enthralled I am by this series when I tell you I dropped everything to read this book.

I tried to stick to my schedule, but these characters were tempting me away from prior obligations. I gave in to temptation and I am so very glad that I did.

This book is flawlessly written.
The characters are extraordinary.
The plot line is gripping.
The details are gorgeous.

If you’re looking for hackneyed and campy stories of sex and piracy, you won’t find them in the world Bey Deckard has created…"

Praise for Fated: Blood and Redemption at Joyfully Jay

Michelle at Joyfully Jay says:

"The writing once again takes center stage and once again it absolutely has to be recognized. The author has a respect for the art of story telling and a command of language, or several languages as the case may be here. There are flashbacks throughout the story that move the adventure along with a history that has been well layered and presented throughout the trilogy. We know these characters so well that the flashbacks transition as seamlessly and effortlessly as a recalled memory. It is also effortless to step back into this universe as the world here is once again richly detailed and the words assemble themselves in perfect alignment, creating a series of perfect moments with a striking visual intensity. The characters all have distinct voices that remain true with every word and the characters thrive on the conflict that is forced upon them time and again. I can offer a five-star rating and can say Deckard’s writing is impressive and that he is wickedly and wildly talented, and while it’s all true, it somehow sounds ordinary when in fact it is extraordinary."

The End and The Beginning

Today is the release of the third and final book in the Baal's Heart Trilogy, Fated: Blood and Redemption. How do I feel about it?

I feel good. Excuse me for a moment while I give myself a little pat on the back. I love the story, I love how everything worked like I was hoping for, I love the cover (I mean  look at it... isn't it nice?). I did good. Yay me! :)

fated-cover-200x300

I'd like to thank everyone who has been with me on this crazy, amazing adventure. I couldn't have done it without the friendship and support of my fans and friends. Look, guys! We made it!

Baltsaros, Tom, Jon would also like to thank you for being there to share in the voyage.

Captain Baltsaros, Tom, and Jon stand on the stage as the curtain lifts. Jon turns his head and smiles a little self-consciously at the man to either side of him. Baltsaros returns the smile with a little head nod, and Tom winks with a cheeky grin. The three of them link hands, face the audience and smile wide at all the fond hearts that followed their journey, who shared their laughter and tears, their passion and pain. As one, the three take a deep bow, and as they straighten, they unclasp hands and press their palms to their hearts.

"Thank you."

Now... is it the end? Certainly not. It's the end of this journey, but it's not the end of the story.  There's more left to be told. When? I don't know. Let's see how long I can stay off the ship *grins*.

Release day for Fated is going wonderfully. So much is going on! There are blog reviews up in so many places. You can find guest posts that I did for the release as well as interviews with both me and the pirates here. If you're looking to listen to the soundtracks or learn more about the world where Baal's Heart sails, you can go on over to baals-heart.com to check out the soundtracks for the trilogy, learn some pirate lingo, peruse the maps, see details about the ship and specifics about the fictional world.

Want a chance to win the books? There's a giveaway of an ecopy of Caged over at The Blogger Girls and a giveaway of the trilogy over at Sinfully... Addicted to All Male Romance.

And finally, be sure to join me on Facebook for a chat hosted by Bike Book Reviews tonight, April 11 @ 8pm EST.

Amazing review of Sacrificed by Monique and Macky at Sinfully…

Macky says:

"Let's just admit it, we're hooked on these bloody pirates and everything about their vivid, exciting, adventurous existence. Sacrificed didn't disappoint us one bit, in fact it exceeded our expectations. I loved how Bey cleverly used flashbacks to follow on exactly from where Caged ended. By using teasing hints of what happened between the trio six weeks after they were reunited, it set the tone of the story to come perfectly. Talk about intriguing. There's no doubt, Bey is the king of keeping you tantalized and enticed. Once again it was a matter of love at first sentence!"

Wondering which retailer pays me the most?

#1 is Payhip. Not a retailer, but an online shop that I've set up myself. This is where I make the most return on my books.

Then after that it gets a little complicated, but these are the three best choices:

At Eden Books*, I make 70% royalties for all titles.

At Smashwords, I make 60% royalties for all titles.

At Amazon, for books OVER $2.99 (USD) I make 70% royalties and for books UNDER $2.99 I make 35%

So... if the book is under $2.99, buy from Eden Books or Smashwords.

If the books is over $2.99, buy from Eden Books or Amazon.

But best of all, buy from my Payhip store :)

Questions? Contact Me!

*Not all my titles are available at Eden yet as of 25/09/23 - I'm working on it.
